Inside a lesson

Six ways to practise, every time

A lesson is not a list of words to read. It moves from hearing a phrase to saying it, building it, and using it — before it asks whether you have it.

  1. Phrases

See it written and hear a native speaker say it.

  2. Speaking

Record yourself, then hear how close you got.

  3. Sentence building

Tap the words back into the right order.

  4. Conversationtalk lessons

Take one side of a real exchange, turn by turn.

  5. Quiz

Choose the right meaning from four.

  6. Listening

Answer from the audio alone, with no text to read.

The signature feature

Hear it. Say it. Get it right.

Most apps teach you to read a language. ChinTalk teaches you to speak it — listen to a native speaker, record yourself, and hear the difference.

FAQ

Questions, answered

ChinTalk starts with Hakha Chin — a full curriculum, phrases, and picture dictionary. Falam, Tedim, Zotung, and Mara are in development.

Both. The lessons, picture dictionary, and pronunciation practice work for children learning their heritage language and for adults reconnecting with it.

Yes. Words and phrases are voiced by native Chin speakers so you learn how the language actually sounds.

You record your voice and the app shows it next to the native speaker’s so you can hear the difference and practice until it sounds natural. Recording stays on your device.

They’re on the roadmap. If you speak one of them, we’d love your help recording it — reach out and we’ll get you involved.

The full curriculum, dictionary, phrases, and pronunciation practice are free. Premium adds unlimited translations, deeper progress insights, and early access to new languages.
